This 2014 Cabernet balances bright flavors and aromas with rich structure, weight, and texture. The wine bursts with a complex array of aromas including fresh blueberries, huckleberry pie, crème de cassis, bay leaf, clove, licorice, and toasted almonds. It is enjoyable now and will continue to evolve through 2025 and beyond.
Its name translated from Italian means “left-handed thrower” and is an ode to our proprietor, Thomas Leonardini, Sr. and several other left-handed Leonardinis. Tom was a standout left-handed pitcher in his day with pin-point accuracy while delivering the occasional “chin music”. This Cabernet is also a standout and delivers all-star power and finesse from grapes grown exclusively in Whitehall Lane’s Oak Glen Vineyard in the Oak Knoll District. The wine is definitely a home run!
The Merlot grapes were grown in the winery’s Estate Vineyard in Rutherford and select vineyards throughout Napa Valley. Whitehall Lane has always utilized the art of blending to make a Merlot with layers of flavors, complexity and balance. The plush red raspberry and cherry flavors and aromas leap from the glass. This merlot has an amazing core of ripe, jammy berry and currant fruit that is beautifully framed by toasty oak. It is supple in texture and shows attractive depth on the finish.
The breezes (las brisas) blowing off the San Pablo Bay in Carneros make the Las Brisas Vineyard ideal for growing Pinot Noir grapes. This succulent and ripe Pinot Noir is beautifully balanced with supple flavors of strawberry, cranberry and sweet oak. Its mild tannins offer a smooth, lasting finish.
We were hunting for an image to complete our Tre Leoni package upgrade and this bold view of artist Jacqui Oakley's oil canvas painting kept stalking us. The vivid colors and focused eye of the lion not only impress, but also tell the story of what is in the bottle: it is a bold, impressive, ficused wine loaded with vivid aromas, flavors and texture.
This 2016 Syrah Rosé is bursting with fresh strawberries, Santa Rosa plums, mixed berry compote, and a touch of violets. On the palate, it is crisp and refreshing, offering fresh berries and ripe red fruits with a round, fleshy mouth-feel and long, pleasant finish. This wine is best enjoyed chilled and with friends.
