91% Sauvignon Blanc
Mother Nature provided perfect spring weather for bud break and early grape development in 2012. This was followed by a textbook Napa Valley summer with nice warm days and cool evenings. The weather was ideal for allowing the Sauvignon Blanc grapes to develop exceptional flavors and sweetness. We began harvesting the Sauvignon Blanc grapes on September 8, 2012 and picked the Semillon grapes on October 5, 2012.
Whitehall Lane is known for its fruit forward and crisp Sauvignon Blanc. 70% of the fruit was fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and 30% in new French oak barrels. The barrel-fermented portion was aged for only six weeks. Utilizing both tank and barrels for fermenting accentuates the crisp fruit flavors and increases complexity. 9% Semillon was blended in for enhanced sweet, round flavors and mouth-feel.
This crisp and refreshing wine is loaded with aromas and flavors of lemon, kiwi, honeydew melon and grapefruit. It is light to medium bodied with excellent balance and a clean finish.
