2004 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Silver Anniversary
Blend
100% Cabernet Sauvignon
The Vintage
Heavy winter rains in 2004 gave way to warm March weather that led to an early bud break in our Napa Valley vineyards. The perfect summer weather was ideal for flavor and sugar development in the grapes and these exceptional growing conditions concluded in an early harvest. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes matured approximately two weeks ahead of normal. The yields were somewhat lower than expected but resulted in outstanding, concentrated fruit. This commemorative Reserve bottling celebrates Whitehall Lane Winery's 25 years of making outstanding wines in Napa Valley.
Winemaking
The Reserve offerings have always represented the very best barrel lots from some of the finest vineyards in Napa Valley. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in the Silver Anniversary Reserve include fruit harvested from select vine rows in the Leonardini Vineyard in St. Helena, the Morisoli Vineyard in Rutherford and a small vineyard block on the eastern hills of Napa Valley. These grapes were harvested between September 18 and September 27, 2004. The wine was aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels for 25 months.
Tasting Notes

It has rounded, luxurious flavors of blackberry, mulberry and mocha. This delicious Reserve offering displays great balance, ripeness and offers a long, silky smooth finish. Enjoy to 2016.
