Just as the Syrah grapes neared perfection in the vineyard, Napa Valley experienced a magnitude 6.0 earthquake. The vines received a momentary deep root massage and the grape clusters were shaken but not bruised. This pink wine was made by pressing sweet Syrah juice after the grapes cold soaked and macerated on the skins for one day.
Don't let the color fool you. The wine is delicately floral on one hand but brings depth and texture with juicy flavors of cherry, strawberry and a hint of Meyer lemon. It has suprising length on the finish and a rich ripeness from the Syrah grapes.
